Nicola Gordon

Board Member

Nicola Gordon holds several board positions including being a Director and Chair of the Risk Committee of OKEA ASA which was floated on the Norwegian stock exchange in 2019. She sits on the Board and Audit Committee at the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) and on the Strategy Advisory Board at Heriot-Watt University’s Institute of GeoEnergy Engineering.

Nicola was Lay Chairing Member of the Judicial Appointments Board for Scotland from 2017 t 2021. She also serves on the board of Edinburgh Printmakers.

Nicola has 35+ years of experience from the oil and gas industry formerly serving with the Royal Dutch Shell Group including as Vice President for Shell International, as Asset Manager and Board Director at A/S Norske Shell and Managing Director at Shell Denmark. She led teams running the UK’s Brent field and Norway’s Ormen Lange development. Nicola is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Energy Institute. Back in 1980, she was the first woman to be awarded a MSc degree in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot-Watt University. She also holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering from University of Newcastle upon Tyne.
