Learn more about how geological samples can inform future research

During this core viewing, participants will be able to unravel the depositional history of the North Sea from Devonian to Eocene times by looking at the best cores cut from these stratigraphic intervals and everything in between. From the Old Red Sandstone to the unconsolidated Forties sands, what is better than the rocks themselves to illustrate more than 400 millions of years of geological history?

Complemented by a series of depositional facies maps, pop-up banners, and information sheets, we will guide you through the ups and downs of the North Sea, not only putting in context why reservoirs are where they are, but also showing how the area moved across climate zones over time.
