Serica Energy is a UK-based independent oil and gas exploration and production company focused on the UK Continental Shelf, responsible for around 5% of the UK’s natural gas output. dCarbonX is a pioneering GeoEnergy company established to develop subsurface assets that facilitate the Energy Transition.
Based in London & Dublin, dCarbonX is using its proprietary experience to originate and build a portfolio of high-value Energy Transition assets offshore Ireland & the UK, with a focus on energy storage (natural gas & hydrogen) and carbon sequestration. In November 2021, dCarbonX established a strategic energy transition alliance with Europe’s largest gas storage operator Snam S.p.A., who hold a 50% share in the company. dCarbonX is operator of the GS007 licence in the East Irish Sea which is being evaluated for gas storage and the potential future storage of hydrogen. The company is also pursuing carbon sequestration opportunities and is joint venturing with ESB in Ireland for offshore energy storage
