The James Watt Lecture 2023
With Dr Katriona Edlmann

Addressing the unique opportunity for hydrogen in supporting the uptake of renewables, Dr Katriona Edlmann will discuss the areas in which Hydrogen can be an essential part of the decarbonisation toolkit. She will explore the challenges of whole system design, energy storage and large scale implementation of emergent technologies.

Our Speaker
Dr Katriona Edlmann is Chancellor’s Fellow in Energy at the School of Geosciences, University of Edinburgh.

Having trained as a reservoir geologist she has an interest in advancing and transforming the understanding of subsurface characterisation and multiphase reactive transport through porous media for the secure and sustainable utilisation of subsurface water resources, energy storage and low-carbon energy generation through state of the art experiments and benchmarking of numerical modelling.
